MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Minnesota Twins pitcher Jake Odorizzi gave RBI a double on Greg Bird, including one in the eighth inning, putting an end to the right-winger's attempt against the New York Yankees.

After a walk to Luke Voit, Bird doubled the next step in the center left. It was the 120th field Wednesday night for Odorizzi, equaling his career record.

He was immediately removed from the match by Twins manager Paul Molitor and tipped his cap to the crowd as he left the field for a standing ovation.

Odorizzi hit five and walked three. Minnesota leads 3-1.

Odorizzi is in his first season with the Twins after throwing for Tampa Bay in the last five years. The 28-year-old entered 5-10 with an ERA of 4.57.
