President Donald Trump fought back Thursday in front of JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.
"The problem with the banker Jamie Dimon running for the president is that he does not have the ability or he has
The president added: "otherwise it is wonderful.I've made a lot of bankers and others, much smarter than they are with my great economic policy!"
The tweet took place less than 24 hours after Dimon, which was a major fundraiser for Democrats, said he was "smarter" than Trump and that he could defeat him.
"I think I could beat Trump," said Dimon at an event at his company's headquarters in New York. "Because I'm as hard as he is, I'm smarter than him."
"He could hit me whatever he wants, it would not work with me, I would fight right away," said Dimon.
"And by the way, this rich New Yorker has earned his money," said Dimon. "It was not a daddy's present."
Moments after making these remarks Wednesday, Dimon, 62, issued a statement, repeating them.
"I should not have said it, I do not show up for the president," he said. "I would not be a good politician, I'm frustrated because I want all parties to come together to help solve big problems."
