DETROIT – Police on Friday morning shot dead a man suspected of shooting and killing a five-year-old girl and seriously injuring her mother during a home invasion on Thursday night.
Detroit police officers executing a search warrant at approximately 4:50 am on September 14, in a house in the 9200 block of Evergreen Road, were confronted by an armed gunman who showed them a firearm. from WDIV.
An officer shot the man, killing him.
Family members of the five-year-old girl told the press that the girl's home had been killed by police, WDIV reported.
The daughter and her mother were shot dead Thursday night, Sept. 13, during a home invasion in the 19000 block of Lyndon Street.
Both were taken to a local hospital where the child later died of his injuries. The mother has since been moved from critical condition to stable condition, police said.
