MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Alexandria Montgomery says she wanted a quesadilla at Taco Bell in Hialeah on Wednesday night. But she did not just go hungry. She also left to question her place in South Florida.

Montgomery said she could not place her order on the intercom because she could not understand what the employee was saying. She hoped to be able to communicate her order face to face at the window. But the cell phone video recorded by Alexandria shows that things have not improved.

"There are cars out there," said the employee, while Montgomery and a friend are sitting at the window. "No one here speaks English."

Montgomery was incredulous.

"So you can not take my order? You do not understand what I say? ", She said during the recording.

Montgomery recorded the mobile phone video at Taco Bell in Hialeah on 9th Street East. The driving window interaction lasted several minutes and Montgomery said that one thing that shocked her was when the employee closed the window on her.

"It was very rude because I told him I would not budge before taking my order," Montgomery told CBS 4 News.

After closing the window, Montgomery is frustrated.

"I try to order and she tells me that I can not order because I do not speak English. Who's wrong? What did I do wrong? "She said on the video.

At one point, the Taco Bell employee seems to be saying that she can not understand it and that the store is in Hialeah.

"That does not mean anything – Cuz It's Hialeah! It's America! "Says Montgomery on the video.

Friday, Montgomery reflected on the situation.

"It really made me feel like I did not belong here and I grew up here all my life," she said.

Montgomery posted the video on Facebook and attracted a lot of attention. She followed with the store manager Taco Bell and said she received an apology. She also spoke with their business leaders. Montgomery believes it is important for the community to know that these language and cultural barriers are happening – even in a melting pot like South Florida – and that we should all work harder to prevent them.

"I want this to come out so that people can know and be aware of situations like this, so that it does not happen again," she said.

CBS 4 News addressed the Taco Bell headquarters. They told us in a statement: "It does not meet the expectations of our customers. We quickly worked with the client to make sure this did not happen again. The individual no longer works for the brand. "
