Yes, there are teams with losses in the Top 10 (Plus One) after the third week. Come to me.
We reached the STINKS OF ALL, NOBODY PLAYED a part of the season at the beginning of this year, but that must have happened one day. It is almost as if large groups of young people aged 18 to 22 tend to act irregularly from one week to the next.
1. Alabama (3-0)
Last match: Beat Ole Miss, 62-7
Next match: Saturday against Texas A & M
It is quite normal to see Alabama decimate its opponents. What is so different is that the Crimson Tide sends its enemies with as much panache. Alabama would probably have scored 100 on Ole Miss. Finally, Tua Tagovailoa will have to play in a second half. Maybe even next week.
2. Ohio State (3-0)
Last match: Beat TCU, 40-28
Next match: Saturday against Tulane
The TCU game has highlighted some weaknesses in the Buckeyes defense, and Nick Bosa's injury seems to be something that could last. Still, the Ohio State has also shown its ability to explode against a good defense. It's good that the Buckeyes proved they could win a game like this, because chances are they'll play a similar game on September 29 at State College.
3. LSU (3-0)
Last match: Beat Auburn 22-21
Next match: Saturday against Louisiana Tech
Nor am I sure that I am guilty of the offense of LSU. But I think LSU now has the best win of all teams this season (at Auburn) and another decent win (Miami). So, the Tigers are ranked high up until someone beats them up. That said, it was fun to see Ed Orgeron dig a hole in the off-season story that he was on the hot seat. It has never been. It's just that when people write hot seat columns, they feel the need to include a coach from each conference. And if it continues, Orgeron's critics will have to admit that the guy knows what he's doing.
4. Georgia (3-0)
Last match: Beat Middle Tennessee, 49-7
Next match: Saturday in Missouri
The Bulldogs could very well face an undefeated teams game in the SEC Championship game against Alabama, but the Bulldogs still have to be challenged a bit more. They will have a challenge next week against Missouri and Drew Lock, who could be the first quarterback to leave the table in the upcoming NFL draft.
5. Clemson (3-0)
Last match: Beat Georgia Southern, 38-7
Next game: Saturday at Georgia Tech
The Tigers did not need quarterback Kelly Bryant to finish the match with Georgia Southern, so Bryant did not return after suffering a bruise in the second quarter. Do not read that too much. Bryant probably still gives Clemson the best chance of winning, but more experience for Trevor Lawrence can not hurt.
6. Oklahoma (3-0)
Last match: Beat Iowa State, 37-27
Next match: Saturday vs. Army
This is not a massive warning sign that Oklahoma had to pull out against Iowa State in Ames. After all, the Cyclones beat the Oklahoma team that won the Big 12 and made the playoff of college football last year. However, the fact that Oklahoma has allowed Iowa State quarterback Zeb Noland to gain an average of 10 yards by throwing 360 yards allows us to wonder if this is not the same Oklahoma defense.
7. Oklahoma State (3-0)
Latest game: Beat Boise State, 44-21
Next game: Saturday against Texas Tech
The Cowboys enter the top 10 with a convincing win against a very good Boise State team. Oklahoma State was brutally effective, averaging 6.5 yards per race, while playing only 65 games. After watching the Cowboys' offensive in Boise State's defense, it's scary to think that Oklahoma State could face the 12 defenses.
8. Our Lady (3-0)
Last match: Beat Vanderbilt, 22-17
Next match: Saturday at Wake Forest
The Fighting Irish are still there thanks to their victory over Michigan. The attack offered more reasons to worry about Vanderbilt, while the defense continued to inspire confidence. "We are trying to find our identity in attack," said Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly. "I think we are a good defense. We are not yet a big defense. We have things to clean, but, boy, I really like our football team and the way they have participated today.
9. Auburn (2-1)
Last match: Lost to LSU, 22-21
Next match: Saturday against Arkansas
A second loss to LSU in two years is a concern, but here is the (good) good news. It's a better LSU team than the one that beat SEC West champion Auburn last year, so that loss does not mean Auburn can not make a difference. Also, Auburn has the second best win of the season (the Tigers win against Washington on September 1), so she's still on this list.
10. Washington (2-1)
Last match: Beat Utah, 21-7
Next match: Saturday against Arizona State
The Huskies have won one of their toughest Pac-12 games in Salt Lake City, with a lot of help from the Utes, who got into the foot so many times they no longer have toes. But it's still a big win. Next week, Washington will welcome Herm Edwards to the Pac-12.
More one: Akron (2-0)
Last match: Beat Northwestern, 39-34
Next game: Saturday at Iowa State
The Zips beat a Big Ten team for the first time since 1894 and they managed to overcome a deficit of 18 points. The MAC carries the flag very high for this one.
