Hulu makes a victory lap even before the Primetime Emmy Awards are distributed Monday.

The video streaming service will air Monday night at the NBC 70th Primetime Emmy Awards (Monday 8th EDT / 5 PDT) and during the Red Carpet Special (19:30 ET) preceding the awards. show.

Its timing is appropriate as Hulu's live TV service, launched last year and now has more than 50 live channels, now has more than one million subscribers, the company said. Overall, Hulu has more than 20 million subscribers when you add those who pay for its TV offerings and movies on demand.

"Hulu had a very good year, we have won historical awards and, importantly, we have significantly expanded our business," said Kelly Campbell, Marketing Manager at Hulu.

A consumer survey conducted by Hulu showed that consumers associate Hulu with television in the same way that they associate Hershey with chocolate. "People think of us as on television," she said. "It's great, but we need people to take another look at what they have to offer now."

The new advertisement aims to convey this message. It stars renowned sports stars James Harden from Houston Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Rams Jared Goff, as well as actors Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family") and Joe Manganiello ("Justice League"). In advertising, stars ask viewers not to fly in first class, never sit on the court, not buy a king-size bed or add bacon to your burger, because that would spoil their way of doing things. And never have Hulu, they say, because his combination of live TV and sports, original content and TV library and movies "will ruin you for TV forever," says Harden in the ad.
