Beat the heat and enjoy a cone for a good cause.

As part of Graeter's "Cones for the Cure" week, the local ice cream chain is distributing free single-dipped sugar cones from Elena's blueberry pie – today only.

Every September, Graeter devotes a week to promoting "The Cure Starts Now," which aims to find a cure for all cancers by focusing specifically on brain cancer in children, according to their website. Their goal is to raise $ 150,000 during the week.

Elena 's blueberry – flavored ice cream is a seasonal limited edition flavor in the honor of a "beautiful girl who loved life, a life cut short by cancer".

A portion of all Elena's Blueberry Pie sales go directly to A Cure Starts Now, according to the Graeter website.
