Matthew Perry started the weekend with a little alarming tweet: "Three months in a hospital bed. Check. The "Friends" star, who has never been particularly prolific on Twitter but had not posted since May, underwent emergency surgery last month and appears to be recovering.
"Matthew Perry recently underwent surgery in a Los Angeles hospital to repair a gastrointestinal perforation," reads a statement from his representatives. "He is grateful for the concern and asks for ongoing intimacy during his healing." Doctors call his state of health a rupture of the intestine and cause acute pain, among other serious symptoms.
The actor has been a mainstay of the sitcom for decades, not only on "Friends" but also "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Mr. Sunshine "and" The Odd Couple ". His work includes "17 Again", "The Whole Nine Yards" and the romantic comedy "Fools Rush In".
