All greet the Harvard man.
Ryan Fitzpatrick stole the show Sunday afternoon, first with a pair of 75-yard touchdowns in a 27-21 win over the Super Bowl Eagles, Eagles, in Tampa, then again during the press conference.
He was recognizable only after the beard. Dressed in DeSean Jackson black sunglasses, gold chains and a sweat jacket, Fitzpatrick decided that the clothes were "worn" and that the Bucs, 2-0, "make sure to stay humble".
He also admitted that he was in a loan period when Jackson, who did not hit the first 75-yard touchdown on the first play, showed up at the door in search of his clothes.
"D.J. needs his business, "Fitzpatrick said before laughing.
Next week, Jameis Winston will come back, looking for his work, and Fitzpatrick will not be ready to give up.
Winston continued to serve his three – game suspension for allegedly fumbling with an Uber driver, and Fitzpatrick seemed more and more comfortable in the starting role. In two games, he has now launched 819 yards and eight touchdowns. His counterparts were Drew Brees and Nick Foles. Fitzpatrick watched the two Super Bowl MVPs. His second 75-yard score went tight O.J. Howard.
"I think above all [it’s] explosive games, "said Fitzpatrick. "For O.J. to catch that ball and run for a touchdown, obviously that of D-Jack, we have guys with the ability to run after the shots that play really well.
Fitzpatrick, 35, dropped during his series of strokes. Women now wear beards at Bucs games and t-shirts with "Magic" inscription on the front are for sale.
"[He’s] extremely effective, putting the ball on the money, allowing our leaders to play to play, "said coach Dirk Koetter. "Ryan deserves everything he gets now. He plays a great football, so why not?
Fitzpatrick had his reflections. Philadelphia defender Fletcher Cox crossed the line and tackled Fitzpatrick for a sack. Howard swung a ball and cornerback Ronald Darby picked up the ball.
It was Howard's fault; Fitzpatrick chose to marvel Howard's ability to clear his way to the field for 75 yards on their best connection.
"I've had so many ups and downs in my career," Fitzpatrick said. "I'm just trying to enjoy the ride."
Few people saw Fitzpatrick's quick departure. Fewer things saw the nuances and the chain after the win. By some lights, he passed as a clone of Conor McGregor.
We know a lot: it seems that Winston will have to fight the Harvard graduate with the gold chains for the start when his suspension is over.
