A cat eliminated power for more than 7,500 people in New Orleans on Monday morning.
The cat entered the substation for the Entergy electricity company and came into contact with electrical equipment.
Residents lost power in the city's central business district, as well as in Mid-City, Central City and Broadmoor.

The outage was reported at 8:30. Entergy said that all customers' food had been used before 11:15.
Entergy revealed that the cat had not survived after being in contact with the equipment and had caused a "flash".
The utility company stated that it was "unusual for a cat" to enter a substation or bypass it by protective devices.
"Entergy installs protection devices to keep animals out of our equipment, not only to prevent power outages, but also to protect animals," spokeswoman Charlotte Cavell said in a statement.

"However, they can sometimes bypass the protective devices and, when that happens, the animals unfortunately do not survive contact with high voltage equipment.
This is not the first time that Breakouts have hit Entergy because of animals or strange objects this year.
In July, 3,000 people lost power in the city after a mylar balloon hit the power lines and caused a breakdown.
And in January, more than 3,000 people lost power after special metal balloons struck a power line before the New Orleans NFC Wild Card playoff game.
