As fast food wars grow in intensity, it seems that weird strings of gadgets are trying to capture the attention of consumers. We have seen the IHOP turn into IHOb (it turns out that it really worked!) For the Burger King commercials lagging behind McDonald's in different ways.
Now, Arby is taking the next step by ensuring that her customers can always have a glimpse of their favorite sandwiches, until they die.
This new promotion is a courtesy of the "sandwich for life" agreement of the chain, which is not quite what it sounds like. Instead of sandwiches that you can eat, the chain offers free tattoos of sandwiches – yes real permanent tattoos. Arby joins tattoo artist Miguel "Uzi" Montgomery to distribute free tattoos at 11am and 8pm. PST at Port City Tattoo in Long Beach, California on Saturday, September 22nd.
Of course, there is one trap (well, another): you have to choose a tattoo from a pre-drawn list of Arby menu items brought together by standard tattoo designs … but hey, those who have their side for life.
We're not sure how many people are going to sign up, but for now, we have at least some hysterical reactions on social media.
For those who are not (uh, lucky?) Enough to be present in person at Long Beach, it is also possible to download a flash card that can be sent to any local tattoo artist. Of course, it will not be free. Those who decide to take the plunge (or go under the nose) will have plenty of fun options to choose from, including an attribute "we have meats", various stacked sandwich options and even an eagle holding curly fries . Like patriotic!
Interestingly, some Russian branches of Domino's Pizza made a similar promotion in August: those who agreed to be tattooed the Domino logo were lucky to get free pizzas for life. However, the promotion has proven also successful and the registration period was shortened when too many people rushed to take advantage of it.
Of course, Arby does not offer anyone any free food related to these tattoos. The only sandwich for life here will be inked on the arms, legs and, well, anywhere.
