Need to know: last look at Redskins vs. Colts

[ad_1]

Here's what you need to know on Tuesday, September 18th, five days before the Washington Redskins host the Green Bay Packers.

Discussion points

A last look at the loss of the Redskins against the Colts.

– In retrospect, this was completed in the middle of the first quarter. The Colts managed with the Redskins on the opening disc. Jay Gruden said it took some of the energy off the team. After the kickoff that followed, the Redskins went a long way to Jamison Crowder, who was good for 75 yards. But after three games, the Redskins went off. The Redskins were far from the dashboard, but they did not seem to have much life.

– The more I look, the more I find it difficult to blame the defense for this loss. Not counting knee possession at the end of each half, the Colts had 10 records. They went to three out of five and jumped after four games on another. They had two takeaways. Andrew Luck had a score of 77.2, a performance on the mediocre side.

-Alex Smith did not have a terrible match and a few passes were dropped, but he still participated in the loss. He missed a few passes, including a fade to Josh Doctson in the end zone that would have made a four-point game in the third quarter. It was not easy, but a veteran of his experience should be able to do it.

-Late in the first quarter, the Redskins beat the Colts territory and Chris Thompson lost three yards on a third and one. Gruden said that "we did not have a shooter" on the game. I asked him to clarify and he said, "we blocked the problem," basically saying that someone had made an assignment. This is not encouraging news.

Injury of note

Rob Kelley left the match with an injury to the toe and this seems a little serious. Gruden said that he "is doing very well" and that he might need a surgical procedure. "It could be a month, a month and a half of agreement type."
