Sadio Mane revealed that he sent an SMS to Roberto Firmino before Liverpool's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, urging the Brazilian to make himself available.
Striker Firmino did not train with his Liverpool teammates on Monday after suffering a terrible eye injury during Saturday's Premier League win over Tottenham.
Jan Vertonghen involuntarily pushed Firmino into the eyes and, although there was no long-term damage, he had to be treated at the hospital and was named to the bench for the match against PSG.
The French giants seemed to be doing well after coming back from two goals to 2-2, but Firmino came off the bench to score a winning goal.

"I think Bobby does not need his eye to play, so I told him," said Senegalese Mane.
"I sent him a message on Monday saying," Hey Bobby, come on, we need you. "You've all seen the goals" without a look, "so I think he's not in need of his eye to play.
"I sent him a text message saying," You do not need your eyes! "
Liverpool have not yet taken a point in the Premier League this season and have started their campaign in the Champions League by scoring two goals in the first half against PSG.
First, the English international Daniel Sturridge took the lead of the Reds in front of the inviting center of Andrew Robertson, before James Milner returned home.
Thomas Meunier pushed back the goals before half-time and Kylian Mbappe seemed to have won a point by defeating Alisson with a late strike.
But Firmino settled the case with a good individual goal in the clock and Mane praised Liverpool's performance.
"I think it's a great result honestly. It is very important for us to continue our momentum, "he added.

"It was not an easy match because PSG is one of the best teams in the world but we played very well and deserve to win.
"I think it's about desire and conviction, that's what we're trying to do. We have quality in the team and the team is mentally free to go ahead and believe it until the end.
"That's what we tried and finally we scored the third goal, which was very important for the team."
