Looks like the Super Bowl LIII could get "sugar" next year at his show at halftime. Maroon 5 is a favorite to play in the NFL championship game at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3, 2019, ET learned.

The group – led by Adam Levine with Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine, Morton PJ, Matt Flynn, Sam Farrar and Mickey Madden – is currently touring to promote their 2017 album, "Red Pill Blues". They have no date between New Year's Eve and February 19th, giving way to a Super Bowl show.

In 2015, Levine said he and his group were very interested in performing at the coveted half-time show. At the time, he told Howard Stern that the group "very actively wanted to play the Super Bowl".

Maroon 5, NFL and Pepsi, sponsor of the show at half-time, have not commented on the report yet.

AT last year's Super Bowl in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Justin Timberlake paid homage to Prince in the hometown of the late singer. In addition to his own successes, Timberlake performed Prince's "I Would Die 4 U" as the camera came out of the stadium, while Minneapolis seemed to turn purple with Prince's iconic "Love Symbol". Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles won 41-33 against the New England Patriots.

Taraji P. Henson should be happy. In 2015, when Coldplay played, the actress tweeted by mistake, "YAAAAAAASSSSSS !!!! # maroon5 is life for me !!! # superbowl50 #HappyCamper I am." Next year, she could even see Maroon 5 play the show.
