RENTON, Wash. – Monday's loss to the Chicago Bears left Seattle Seahawks fans with a litany of questions.

Near the top of the list for many: why did not Chris Carson return to the field after a good start to the game? And why did the Seahawks give up most of the second and third quarters, especially after spending a week discussing the preparation for the heated match.

Coach Pete Carroll clashed with the media after training at the VMAC on Wednesday, and he blasted out.

"Impatience," said Carroll. "Thinking that we should be on the board more than us and that guys throw a little more ball than I want. I have more than that.

Carson had six races for 24 yards, all things considered. When the Hawks returned to the game in the second period, rookie Rashaad Penny was the man with the ball. Penny, the Seahawks first draft pick this year, finished with 10 carries for 30 yards.

Seattle won 19 races overall on Monday, against Russell Wilson's 36 assists. The loss of Week 1 against the Denver Broncos was not too long: the semifinals took 14 times and Wilson made 33 passes.

"Both matches were so close," Carroll said. "We were close enough, we could do anything we wanted until the end. We are just a little impatient and have thrown the ball a little more than we needed to do, so you look back. And that has few opportunities because we do not convert.

And yes, these third conversions are a problem. The Seahawks converted 5 of 13 chances against the Bears, which was a marked improvement after converting 2 of 12 against Denver.

"We have to be more efficient," Carroll said. "We were better this week than last week. We just need more leads. More first runs and more races.

Carroll said everything was added to a game plan.

"It just works together and I just own … that's what I would say, that's the problem with that," he said. "I must be a little less impatient."

The Seahawks had good news on Wednesday as the All-Pro linebacker returned to training after missing Monday's game with a groin injury. Companion mate K.J. Wright, however, did not do it.

Carroll also said RG Doug Baldwin "had a good weekend," but said "there is nothing to say at this point" as to when he might return.
