Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger congratulated Antonio Brown after returning star receiver Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters (via Jeremy Fowler from ESPN.com), Roethlisberger called Brown "the best in the world "and noted that the team is frustrated by his 0-1-1 start.

"When you are the best in the world, you want to participate, you want to win football games, we are all a little frustrated not to win at the moment … AB is a very passionate football player I think we we all know, the fans know it, that's what makes him special, the passion that he has for this game and the passion to be great. We will not want him take that away. "

The Steelers had a turbulent time after losing 42-37 to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.

Former Steelers employee Ryan Scarpino tweeted Sunday this brown "must thank his good stars "he was recruited by a team that had Roethlisberger at quarterback, and Roethlisberger is why Brown produced at a high level in the NFL.

Brown replied in Scarpino: "Exchange me, let's find out. "

After Brown missed training on Monday, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, issued a statement on behalf of his client (h / t ESPN Adam Schefter):

"Yesterday's tweet was not about anything other than Antonio answering someone he knows, not intended for a trade or wanting to be [traded]. Any idea that he asked for an exchange is not accurate.

"Antonio had a personal case, I spoke to the team, his problem had nothing to do with the tweet or his relationship with the team. incredible motivation to win, he just wants to win.

"It's nothing more than encouraging his coaches and teammates to win, and that's what he's focusing on – any idea, any speculation can be put to bed. which has been disproportionate We can end this here and now. "

Brown leads the NFL with 33 targets and is in fourth with 18 receptions. His 8.9 receiving yards are well below his career average of 13.4 and he's only got one take of at least 20 yards in two games.

The Steelers will go for their first win of the season when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday night football.
