The victories and inspired performances (and, in one case, a breathtaking fashion statement) in the first two weeks of the regular season were won by Ryan Fitzpatrick, Patrick Mahomes and Ryan Tannehill. Here are the rankings this week, and if you do not like them, wait a week. . .
1. Drew Brees, New Orleans: He takes his turn at the top of the list with his winning percentage of 81.3. (Last week – 3)
2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay: The same rule that was adopted to legislate against the repetition of last season's Rodgers injury ultimately cost the Packers a win. (1)
3. Tom Brady, New England: He was beaten by Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles, but at least he can claim to have recently acquired Josh Gordon as his number-one fumble for 11 of the Patriots' last 66 games. (2)
4. Philip Rivers, L. A. Chargers: Despite the apathy in the stands when both teams of the A. (4)
5. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota: The Buffalo Bills arrive in town, which means it's time to fill in those stats. (6)
6. Jared Goff, L.A. Rams: He has no reason to apologize for being surrounded by so much talent because he plays as well as anyone else. (11)
7. Alex Smith, Washington: A trip to Green Bay means more stories about ordering quarterbacks in the 2005 project. (7)
8. Andy Dalton, Cincinnati: Undefeated, Northern leader of the NFC and overflowing to a playoff loss in the first round. (14)
9. Russell Wilson, Seattle: He is still good, but he has no chance with a group of completely pathetic players around him. (5)
10. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh: He even struggled to keep receiver Antonio Brown happy with too many passes and yards to receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. (8)
11. Matthew Stafford, Detroit: He would have had about 100 yards more against the 49ers if the ball had not escaped him because of excessive salivation while watching receiver Marvin Jones running alone in the pack. (9)
12. Cam Newton, Carolina: If he continues to give the ball to runner Christian McCaffrey, there will be a third member of the 1,000-1,000 NFL club with Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk. (ten)
13. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tampa Bay: Through two games, he is the best QB in the history of the league and the most interesting man alive. (17)
14. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City: His cinematic study against the 49ers will undoubtedly put him in the opposite direction to cornerback Richard Sherman. (23)
15. Carson Wentz, Philadelphia: On his return from a devastating knee injury, he must climb back one rank in the middle of the pack. (Nick Foles, 22)
16. Ryan Tannehill, Miami: He made a good start, but he did not have to deal with a disturbance like Khalil Mack before this week. Wait! What? Mack no longer plays for the Raiders? (24)
17. Deshaun Watson, Houston: Not bad, not as good as the start of his rookie season. (12)
18. DEREK CARR, RAIDERS: Okay, we can all agree after Carr has achieved a remarkable number of 29 32-pass attempts that's not the problem. (21)
19. Matt Ryan, Atlanta: Extensive research has revealed that there seems to be a difference in his production with Kyle Shanahan and Steve Sarkisian as offensive coordinators. (13)
20. Joe Flacco, Baltimore: He can not even pretend to be disgusted when rookie Lamar Jackson comes in to play tricks at QB. (15)
21. Blake Bortles, Jacksonville: He had 377 yards and four touchdowns against the Patriots. That's all. (26)
22. Eli Manning, N.Y. Giants: They like Saquon Barkley, but the only one who was really happy that the Giants did not write QB is Manning. . . and the jets. (16)
23. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis: Underestimated or overvalued? Leave him another week or 14 to decide. (18)
24. Dak Prescott, Dallas: The bad news – one TD pass in two parts. The good news – no interceptions. (19)
25. JIMMY GAROPPOLO, 49ERS: For a guy who gets a score of 118.4, there is still a lot to be done. (20)
26. Sam Darnold, N.Y. Jets: He is still on the rise, starting a captivating showdown Thursday night against the Browns. (27)
27. Case Keenum, Denver: The Broncos could be one of only seven teams 2-0, but this QB is the least responsible for wins among all undefeated players. (25)
28. Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago: His average of 5.4 yards per attempt means that head coach Matt Nagy is certainly not putting too much pressure on his plate. (29)
29. Marcus Mariota / Blaine Gabbert, Tennessee: Gabbert started last week and will probably start again. History has shown that the more he plays, the more he gets bad. (30)
30. Tyrod Taylor, Cleveland: First choice in total, Baker Mayfield, you can start warming up. (31)
31. Sam Bradford, Arizona: Rookie Josh Rosen, you can start warming up now. (28)
32. Josh Allen, Buffalo: Hey, give some credit to the child. He could easily have decided to retire at half-time. (32)
