University of Minnesota footballer Nick Connelly died Wednesday after a battle with cancer. Connelly stopped playing football last season after suffering concussions.
In June, Connelly was diagnosed with Burkitt's lymphoma, an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
His father posted on Twitter Thursday morning that Connelly had died at the age of 22.
Connelly was an outstanding football player at Red Wing High School.
