Police in Syracuse, NY, react to a shooting on Midland Avenue that began around 9 pm. EAST. Police say at least five people were injured.

A spokesman for the Syracuse Police Department told Reuters that no other information was immediately available about the incident. Local media reported that shots were fired at a rally and that a child was perhaps among the wounded.

The Syracuse Fire Brigade has also posted several wounded people, including children, on Facebook.

According to a police press release obtained by the news director of the local outlet, CNYCentral, the filming took place in the 1300 block of Midland Avenue. Several calls were made to the 911 center, noting that several people were probably injured.

The wounded were transported to the Upstate Hospital for treatment.
