The Raiders are 0-2, and Khalil Mack, a Bears pass hunter, has:
- as many bags as all the Raiders' defense
- as many steals as the entire Raiders defense
- more fumbling and more fumbles recovered
- more affected
As you may have heard, Khalil Mack was a Raider and would have been happy to remain a Raider for a salary commensurate with his talent. But in a job that everyone believes was designed by Jon Gruden himself, Mack was sent to Chicago for a pair of picks in the first round. Obviously, the star trade will look bad the first year and it will be impossible to judge for several years. Still, it looks truly bad now. And every quote from Gruden about his anemic race just gets better.
And Gruden does not stop talking about that!
After the defeat of week 1, Gruden said he should "carefully consider why we have not had a break."
After the loss of week 2,

The next day, at his weekly press conference, Gruden was asked to say nothing if he regretted Mack's trade.
"No, it does not make me regret making the decision," said Gruden. "we is trading. We did the trade. There will be hindsight, 50/50, all that.
They make let's always say that the decline is 50/50.
Finally, yesterday in practice, Gruden came across a truth.
I'm half sure Gruden knows exactly what he's doing and is just hanging out. He has the best job security of any NFL coach, and he would soon have more staff, so enjoy it. But can we, no? I implore all the Raiders to beat the writers and their opponents, to never stop asking questions about the inability of Mack or the Raiders to surrender to the QB. We deserve it.
