List of active fires in California as of September 22

Here are the active fires and updates about them, by CAL FIRE. Most of them are listed in alphabetical order, but new fires not yet listed on the FIRE CAL card may be included in a separate section at the end.

Charlie Fire

This fire started on September 22 and in a few hours it went from 100 to 1,200 acres. He started near Charlie Canyon Road in Castaic, Los Angeles County. Around 7:00 pm Pacific Cal Fire updated his numbers and said that Charlie's fire is now 3,000 acres. Some sources claim that there is 10% confinement on this fire.

Current evacuations understand:

Copper fire

This is not on the CAL FIRE map, but as of September 22, the authorities were battling a 12-acre fire near McKenzie Meadows and Highway 36 in Lassen County, west of Susanville.

Delta Fire

Delta's fire was 60,705 acres and 96% was contained as of September 22, having been reported for the first time on September 5 near the Vollmers exit on I-5 north of Lakehead, California. It started with three fires that merged into one fire. The fire was caused by human activity.

Mandatory evacuations issued by the Shasta County Sheriff's Office were lifted at noon. on September 16th, there is no evacuation or notice in progress. Donnell Fire

The fire is located in the Stanislaus National Forest and covers 36,450 acres with 90% containment on 13 September. In total, 54 structures were destroyed and nine wounded. The fire is declared at the entrance to the Donnell Reservoir. The cause is not known and Inciweb no longer updates the details of this fire because it is now well contained. Essex fire

CAL FIRE is helping the Modoc National Forest with this fire, which is located east of the Essex Reservoir and northeast of Canby, in Modoc County. The fire is still listed as active on the CAL FIRE map as of September 19, but CAL FIRE has not released any fire updates since September 4.

Fork fire

"CAL FIRE is helping the Angeles National Forest with a forest fire off the East Fork Road and the San Canyon Canyon Road in Azusa, Los Angeles County," according to the CAL FIRE map. According to Inciweb, the fire is 166 acres and 98% contained on September 19th. The case is under investigation. It is located at San Gabriel Canyon, on Highway 39, near East Fork Junction.

Garner complex fire

Although still listed on the CAL FIRE map as active, it is no longer considered an active fire by Inciweb, which no longer updates the details about it. This is 8,886 acres and 85% of them as of August 9th.

Georges Fire

This fire has been inactive for several weeks It is 95% content by Inciweb on August 24th. It still appears on the CAL FIRE map, but Inciweb no longer considers it active.

Holy fire

The sacred fire was formed on August 6 in the afternoon and quickly grew. The sacred fire was in Orange County, off Holy Jim Canyon Road, west of North Main Divide. As of September 13, the fire was 23,136 acres according to Inciweb and 93%.

A public information line has been set up at 714-628-7085 for the Holy Jim area. Fire is no longer considered active by Inciweb (although it is listed as active on the CAL FIRE map) and Inciweb no longer updates the fire details.

Lions Fire

This fire is listed on the CAL FIRE card as active, but Inciweb no longer considers it as active. This is 13,347 acres and 85 percent of them as of September 10th. It is located seven miles southwest of Mammoth Lakes. This was caused by lightning. Most of the fire is in the Sierra National Forest, but about 1,600 hectares are in the Inyo National Forest. The fire is now in a state of surveillance and is no longer considered active.

Meyers Fire

CAL FIRE reports that this fire near Meyers Road in Camino in El Dorado County is 12 acres and 95% contained. Evacuations and road closures have been lifted.

Natchez's fire

This Oregon fire falls under the jurisdiction of the Oregon Forest Fire Department, but also appears on the CAL FIRE map. This is 33,440 acres of land according to NIFC and 84 percent of them. This was caused by lightning. It is located 15 miles southeast of Cave Junction, Oregon, on the Oregon / California border between Happy Camp, California and Cave Junction, Oregon.

According to Inciweb: "Suppression operations include a mountain-to-mountain containment approach, using natural barriers and fire breaks through ridges of sparsely vegetated groundwater, supplemented by delaying drops from aircraft. When the wood silts represent a fuel bridge from one valley to the other, low intensity ignitions delivered to the ground and aircraft were used to improve the control lines. This ridge containment strategy prevented the fire from spreading from Mud Lake to El Capitan. "

Oak fire

This is a 250-acre fire near Lonesome Oak Road and Bissett Station Road in Ahwahnee. This fire in Mariposa County began with a wildfire in the area of ​​Rd. 628 and Rd. 620. Ranch Fire (Mendocino Complex Fire)

This fire was the largest in California's history at one time, but it is now almost completely contained. It is no longer listed as active on the CAL FIRE map.

Soboba fire

According to CAL FIRE's active list for this fire: "CAL FIRE attends the Soboba Fire Department with a fire over Soboba Road. San Jacinto, northeast of San Jacinto City, Soboba, Riverside County.

Valley fire

The valley fire is 1,350 acres and 82% on September 10th. It is at the height of the valley of the falls and the service road 1S08. According to Inciweb, minimal or no growth is expected and the spread of fire is very low. However, the hot, dry conditions helped the fire stay active. Inciweb does not update it daily.
