The Safe Haven pet shelter can be a refuge, but the felines that live there are not orphaned.
"I adopted all these cats here," said Terry Lauerman, a volunteer cat hunter.
After a 35-year career as a teacher, Mr. Lauerman spends his volunteer years in the golden age.
"And when I retired, I decided to do something fun," Lauerman said.
It's his job six days a week.
"I come in and brush all the cats, so a lot of cats have fur that needs to be removed and it feels good and they like to be brushed," he said.
This shelter attracts attention for the naps that Lauerman takes with his feline friends. One of these moments was presented in a viral post.
"I was on this couch, I slept with a cat and I fell asleep, the cat was asleep and they took a picture, and that's all," he said. said.
The position has recognized the work he does for these cats with special needs.
Lauerman hopes this attention will inspire people to donate to the shelter so that they can help even more cats.
