Patrick Mahomes' epic start to the 2018 NFL season was another big win in Sunday's 38-27 win.

With her third touchdown run against the 49ers – a 12-yard throw to Sammy Watkins in the second quarter – at her first regular season start at Arrowhead Stadium, the young Chiefs' star broke Peyton Manning's three-game record with her 13th .

Mahomes, who turned 23 last week, had already become the first player to shoot 10 touchdowns in the first two weeks, as well as the youngest player with six games in a game.

Only in his second season, Mahomes began Sunday to launch 80 TD … a figure that fell to 69 late in the day after being cleared in the second half. He completed 24 of 38 passes for 314 yards.

Manning won a record for a single season with 55 touchdowns in 2013, when he scored 12 games in three games.
