The bodies of a British millionaire and his wife were discovered in northern Thailand, a few days after the couple had been reported for the first time.

Alan Hogg, a retired businessman and his wife, Nod Suddaen, were reported missing last week at their home in Phrae Province.

Police arrested three men in connection with the murders.

"The three men conspired in the murder of the couple and our investigation is under way to determine exactly who did what," said Col. Kissana Phatanacharoen, Phrae police.

The men claimed that the brother-in-law of the businessman had paid 50,000 Thai baht (£ 1,175) for these attacks.

They also told the police where to find the bodies of the victims, according to the Bangkok Post.

Mr. Hogg and Ms. Suddaen were reported missing last Thursday when their friends tried to contact them.

Robyn Hogg, the couple's daughter, flew out of the UK to Thailand after learning of her parents' disappearance.

A spokesman for the British Embassy in Bangkok said they were in touch with the Thai authorities and "supported the family of a British couple who died in Thailand."
