The Green Bay Packers acquired reinforcements in high school.
NFL Network's Mike Bayfolo reported Tuesday that Green Bay are recruiting free-corner player Bashaud Breeland to replace injured veteran Davon House. ESPN first reported the news.
Breeland played for the last time at the Washington Redskins in 2017, but spent the off-season and the start of the regular season on the market after a foot injury in March and a physical failure with the Carolina Panthers. Before suffering the injury, NFL.com considered him the 15th best free agent available.
The Packers placed House on the injured list on Tuesday with a shoulder injury. The corner only played four times in the third week.
It remains to be seen what Breeland's action will be behind the half-backs Tramon Williams, Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson, the latter two being recruits. Green Bay was also without Kevin King (groin) last week and his status for the Packers Week 4 game with the Buffalo Bills is unknown.
The Packers allowed 262 yards of profit per game (21st in the league) and scored 103.1 (24th) every three weeks.
