Delta Air Lines said its operations returned to normal Tuesday night after a national ground stop caused by a technological problem.
Delta, based in Atlanta, said after 21:00. that it had restored all of its computer systems after a problem affected some of them. The problem had started earlier in the evening.
Delta said it was working on booking passengers whose flights had been disrupted.
"We apologize to all customers for this inconvenience," said the company in a statement.
Once the systems are restored, passengers can check the status of their flights on Delta's website or application, as well as check-in and booking flights.
According to the command center of the Federal Aviation Administration's air traffic control system, Delta had requested that any outbound traffic not be allowed to depart before 20:45. East.
Another update to the FAA's status showed that Delta has requested that flights departing from Delta Hartsfield-Jackson International and JFK and LaGuardia airports in New York City not be allowed until 9:45 pm. or later.
The stop on the ground did not affect flights in flight.
On TwitterFrustrated passengers worried about the delay of their flights and Delta replied that its computer tracking system was temporarily down.
Hartsfield-Jackson posted on Twitter that at the Atlanta airport, only Delta was affected.
