UPDATE: The tornado warning ended at 7:30 pm

A tornado warning was issued Tuesday night in parts of Burlington County.

The warning concerned the area of Presidential Lakes, Atsion and Chatsworth until 19:30, according to the National Meteorological Service.

A tornado warning indicates that extreme weather conditions are imminent in the region or are already occurring.

The National Service advised residents of the area to "move into a basement or interior room on the top floor of a solid building" and avoid windows.

"If you are outside, in a mobile home or in a vehicle, move to the nearest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris," said the alert. "Heavy rains can hide this tornado, do not wait to see or hear the
tornado. Take the blanket now! "

The warning follows several floods in the northern part of the state on Tuesday, which left drivers stranded in their cars and even forced the evacuation of several workers in Fairview.
