A man kills his girlfriend at the bar, then tries to kill himself in the West Philadelphia Restaurant, says the police

A man shot and killed his girlfriend while she was working at a bar in a West Philadelphia restaurant and then attempted suicide, the police said.

The man and his girlfriend were inside the Studio 7 Lounge on the 5900 block of Spruce Street around 10:15 pm. Wednesday. The man's girlfriend was working as a bartender at the restaurant, the police said.

The man would have shot the woman in the head and shot at himself. They were both taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital. The woman died from her wounds while the man survived.

The police have not yet revealed the condition of the man or the identity of his girlfriend. They continued to investigate overnight.
