Eagles Titans forecast for NFL Week 4

Attack: Eagles

After recovering from a rift on the ACL, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is coming to the Nissan Stadium with a game already under his belt. Runner Jay Ajayi (back) could also have a big impact on the injury return. The Titans had a good day running the ball against the Jaguars (150 yards on the ground, including 51 from quarter Marcus Mariota), but remain limited in the air.

Defense: Eagles

The Titans achieved two impressive defensive performances, the last of which was an absolute gem with a two-goal Jaguars offense. But the Eagles boast of having the best defense in the league, which will be useful against a Titan attack that relies heavily on the movement of the ball on the ground.

Special teams: Titans

Aside from a bad defeat by Ryan Succop on a total of 48 yards on the field last week, the Titans' special teams were almost perfect, helping them stay in the games. The kick blanket was solid; Succop is 7-on-8 on field goal testing; and Brett Kern has always been remarkable. Eagles player Jake Elliott missed two of his five attempts this year.

Coaching: Titans

Earlier in 2018, Doug Pederson led his Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory. But Philadelphia looked average during the first three weeks of the season. The Titans, meanwhile, have won improbable consecutive wins with limited staff. They have the courage, creativity and calculated aggression of freshman Mike Vrabel and his team to thank.

Intangibles: Eagles

Vrabel and the Titans have pushed all the right buttons in the past two weeks to find ways to win. Although this ingenuity relies on the Titans, they are still limited to a quarter, Mariota having suffered an elbow injury. The reigning Super Bowl champions have found Wentz, which makes them feel like a different team.

Eagles 17, Titans 15: The Titans were already limited in what they could do on offense because of a tumultuous situation at the quarterback, and they must now face the main defense of the NFL. They should get help back on the O-line, but will that be enough to compensate for the firepower they have found? Probably not. After two improbable victories, the Titans' magic is played against the defending Super Bowl champions.
