Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are about to come face to face with their royal namesake!
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will make their first joint visit to Sussex (about 50 miles south of London) on October 3, where they will see the historic declaration of Sussex, open a technology park and visit the locals.
Queen Elizabeth gave the couple their new royal titles – Duke and Duchess of Sussex – on the morning of their royal wedding on May 19th. Giving titles to members of the royal family on their wedding day is a long-standing tradition. When Prince William and Kate Middleton married, they became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Like most royal dukedoms, the title of Duke of Sussex has a lot of history. Although it appears for the first time in the 800s, its origins go back to those of Prince Augustus Frederick, son of King George III (who was the British monarch during the American Revolution).
The first port of call of Meghan and Harry in the southern region of England will be a mix of both. The royal couple will receive a rare copy of the Sussex Declaration of American Independence, kept at Edes House in the heart of Chichester, West Sussex.

The Sussex Declaration is one of only two handwritten contemporary handwritten copies (the other is the signed copy kept at the National Archives in Washington, DC), and it arrives just weeks after Harry and Meghan's trip to Hamilton. history of the revolutionary era.
The next stop is along the coast at Bognor Regis, where Harry, 34, and 37-year-old Meghan, will officially open the Chichester University Technology and Digital Park, in partnership with local industry.
They must then leave West Sussex County and walk along the coast to East Sussex to see the seaside town of Brighton and Hove. They begin at the Royal Pavilion, built in the mid-1780s and used by George IV as a pleasure palace. The large structure has a flamboyant style, with expenditures spared in its interior decorations, corresponding to the tastes of his royal patron for fashion and the arts. His regular visits to Brighton helped put the seaside town on the map and its importance then increased.

The couple will then travel to the Survivors' Network, a charity that helps survivors of sexual violence and abuse in Sussex interact with patrons, volunteers and staff.
The royal couple's final commitment will be a visit to the JOFF Youth Center in Peacehaven. The community center offers activities, from a relaxation area to a music room, and Harry and Meghan will meet with youth to hear their plans and priorities for mental health and emotional well-being.
The visit is part of the Challenge Day Redemption, a national initiative that encourages organizations to place youth in real decision-making positions.
