CAP CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) – Astronauts from the space station have received a special delivery from a Japanese capsule called White Stork.

The cargo ship known as Kounotori in Japanese arrived at the International Space Station Thursday, five days after takeoff. It is the seventh Japanese expedition and the first in two years.

Commander Andrew Feustel (FOY-Stull) used a robotic arm to capture the white stork. It contains more than 5 tons of supplies, including new batteries for the station's solar energy network. Astronauts participating in the space walks will help install the batteries in October, later than expected due to launch delays caused by inclement weather and rocket problems.

Feustel and fellow NASA astronaut Ricky Arnold will return to Earth next week with Russia's Oleg Artemyev. This will leave one American, one Russian and one German on board until another crew launches.
