Tonight, the Minnesota Vikings will face the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, a game that starts at 20:20. East. Not only can you watch the games on Prime Video like last year, but Amazon also plans to stream the games live on Twitch.tv.
Streaming games on Twitch and Prime Video will continue by the 15th week of the season, not counting Thanksgiving games. The Prime Video stream will also have access to all-new X-Ray features. Amazon plans to use it to display real-time statistics, information about the team and even a shopping section. It will do all this without moving away from the game. This feature will work on all Amazon Fire TV devices such as the 4K Fire TV Media Player or the Cube Fire TV currently at a reduced price. Use the new Shop section to find sports memorabilia, such as hats or shirts, teams.
As in previous years, the game will have several types of comments. Last year, on Thursday night, games had a chain of comments for newcomers. This year, one of the options will be the all-female commentary of sports journalists Andrea Kremer and Hannah Storm. According to Amazon, this will be the first time in the history of the NFL that the commentary on color comes from an exclusively female group, which is great.
The Twitch version of the feed will have something similar to X-Ray provided through the site's extensions. It will include real-time stats, rankings, and features exclusive to Twitch such as special NFL emotes. The Twitch GoldGlove streamer will provide its own comment, which is probably a first for an official broadcast of an NFL game.
If football is not enough for you, Amazon also offers a pre-match title The reader who will interview two opposing players. It starts at 7:15 pm Eastern tonight. And Amazon has announced plans for a new season of All or nothing featuring the Dallas Cowboys. Amazon goes to football, so get ready.
