Mickey Mouse takes the Big Easy.
In a statement released Thursday morning, Disney unveiled major projects for one of its oldest ships, the Disney Wonder. In 2020, she will leave New Orleans, Louisiana, for the first time with six routes to the Western Caribbean and the Panama Canal.
the Wonder– which is headquartered in Galveston, Texas since 2016 – will also have two special cruises to Hawaii: a 9-night cruise from Vancouver to Honolulu in April and a 10-night trip in May. This marks the first time in five years that a Disney cruise has reached the 50th state, which fans have been waiting for a long time.

In addition, the ship has planned routes across the Caribbean from San Juan, Puerto Rico (January 2020), and then down to the Baja and Mexican Riviera from San Diego, California (March 2020).

Disney Wonder was the second ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet to set sail in 1999. In 2016, it underwent a massive renovation, during which they built a new restaurant, Tiana's Place, a jazz lounge inspired by The princess and the Frog.

Other vessels include the Disney Magic, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. In the same press conference on Thursday, the company announced new routes in the Caribbean on the Fancy and new Bahamian cruises on the Dream.
Disney is currently building three unnamed ships that will join the fleet in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
