Ohio State will play at Penn State in Saturday's biggest game, where the Nittany Lions bring the crowd blank. The white veil is a tradition of PSU.

The Buckeyes made a graph that, in most cases, would be an intelligent contraindication to "white noise". It has since been deleted, but here is a screenshot of the image:

OSU issued a statement regarding the chart, which was later removed.

For the moment, the "silence" has an additional connotation, beyond the escape of a crowd of fans.

Despite Urban Meyer's press releases and statements in interviews, we will probably never know for sure what the Meyer family knew and communicated about the allegations of domestic violence against former assistant Zach Smith. On the basis of textual messages verified since then, it is clear that Meyer's wife knew and sympathized, but Meyer denied having passed on the information with him.

According to the report that surfaced at the origin of these SMS, other people in the program knew and said they also thought Meyer knew it.

Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith said no one had informed him of Smith's arrest in 2009 before Meyer hired him two years later.

In response to a press article about Smith, Meyer's first reaction was to remove a batch of text messages, according to the Ohio State survey. Meyer has since denied that.

A week before this chart, Meyer returned from his partial suspension for manipulating Smith, then had some exculpatory explanations to give ESPN an interview broadcast all weekend.

This is the promo art for a great game. But it was not a wise choice for the Ohio State situation as a program.
