You can now bring grass to LAX airport, but will you do it in the plane?

You can now bring grass in one of the busiest airports in the country.

Los Angeles International Airport has changed its policy, allowing travelers aged 21 and over to take a ride on their flights carrying cannabis.

This is an idea that shocked local travelers.

"I can not take some cosmetics of a certain size on a plane … drugs? It's crazy! Said Deborah Sampson, a resident of Nipomo.

"If it's a medical concern, everyone brings their prescriptions, that's fine," said Rebecca Lilley, a resident of San Luis Obispo.

There are limits. Passengers will not be allowed to take one on the flight or in a public place. More than 28.5 grams of marijuana or 8 grams of concentrated marijuana is not allowed.

Some local travelers say that any amount is too high.

"I'm allergic to cannabis, so when someone has it on her person, like she smokes it or has it in her bag, I react. It makes me sick, "said Sampson.

Although the Los Angeles police can give him the green light, do not expect to cross TSA with grass.

Lorie Dankers, a spokeswoman for the agency, said in part: "TSA's response to the discovery of marijuana is the same in every state and at every airport – whether marijuana is legalized or not."

Some fear that this will slow down the security process.

Officials at Santa Maria Airport say they have no specific regulations on marijuana, but they discourage it. If the TSA finds drugs, it will call the police and it will slow down the already stressful process of obtaining security.
