Trump encourages patriotism and targets Iran at the United Nations

The US government announced Friday that the US consulate in Basra, southern Iraq, was temporarily closed due to violence, including a rocket attack against the consulate, by militias backed by the # 39; Iran.

"We will hold the Iranian regime accountable for any attack on our staff or facilities, and respond quickly and decisively to the defense of American lives," Pompeo tweeted earlier this week.
Diplomatic personnel and their families have been evacuated, although the place of their shipment is not clearly defined, while consular services will be provided by the US embassy in Baghdad, according to the state department.
The rise of violence and attacks against the United States in Iraq is the latest sign of increasing tension between the United States and Iran, which is subject to severe economic sanctions imposed by the Trump government.
The Iranian government has denied being involved in the incidents in Iraq, according to state media. Iranian officials have instead accused the United States of trying to provoke the regime and said the US government played a role in a deadly attack on a military parade in Iran earlier this month.
