Texas A & M beat Arkansas 24-17 at AT & T Stadium on Saturday afternoon and new Aggies head coach, Jimbo Fisher, was very upset by one of his players, linebacker Tyrel Dodson.
So upset, in fact, he grabbed him by the mask and pushed him back with the mask. The video went viral, with former Texas Longhorns linebacker and current ESPN analyst Emmanual Acho, among those who criticize Fisher:
Many former pros, such as former Oregon and NFL offensive lineman and current SB Nation contributor Geoff Schwartz, disapproved of what Fisher did:
And if the kid did that to the coach, he would be thrown out of the team.

More from Acho:
If you make $ 75 million a year and I do not make money. Do not touch me unless you put money in my pocket. Scream everything you want. Do not put my hands

Sean Salisbury, former quarterback of the USC and Vikings, also said:
I am old school and snowflake society has an answer to everything, just ask them. But, if a player catches a coach like Jimbo, a player, the country will lose his collective spirit. One day, a player will hang a coach, I guarantee it! So what!

Mark Schlereth, former Pro Bowl lineman:
My former coach in Denver has already had a team meeting to tell us that if I put your hand in a match, you have the right to whip my ass! True Story https://t.co/Nun7GImFH4

The current Chargers cornerback and former Florida Gator Jaylen Watkins added:
After the match, Fisher was questioned about the incident.
On a Jimbo Fisher video that catches Tyrel Dodson's mask … Jimbo said that he had told her "do the game. Shut your mouth." Was worried LB was going to be thrown to fight.

"They fight and fight," Fisher told reporters. "I do not need this guy pushing and beating, get into the fight. Losing one of our best players in defense and our team leader is great. Learn to put your pride aside and put yourself away. There is no reason to go ahead and do anything wrong when you're stuck in a game. He plays very well, he's a great player.
"Dodson's gone for a game or two. We had that. In a game like that, lose [number] 25? I was just trying to argue one point – I do not want you to fight there. Play the game, close your mouth and continue. And he is a great player. Emotions enter football, it's an emotional game. But you have to play smart, you have to play to win. Dodson is one of our team leaders, he's a guy we rely on for everything, make calls, do everything, man, these guys are critical.
"And you have to understand that role, and there's something bigger than the individual fights you're doing, that's all I'm trying to make him understand.
We've seen a lot of coaches go viral for things like that – former Florida head coach Jim McElwain was criticized for criticizing a player, and Woody Hayes would certainly be viral if social media existed at the time. While Fisher said he was just trying to get one point out to one of his players, it's obvious that not everyone agrees with the way he did it.
