It all boils down to this. The last day of the regular season is upon us and NL Central and NL West are sure to be tied.
The Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Dodgers must be thanked for creating the potential chaos. Although hopes are not there due to the elimination of the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, there is still potential for two break-ups in division on Monday.
In NL Central, the Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs for the first time since July 13 after dominating the Detroit Tigers at Miller Park. Christian Yelich remained hot and hit Milwaukee. The Cubs lost earlier in the day to the Cardinals. That would be a small consolation for the Cardinals, but they have a chance to spoil the hopes of the Cubs division title.
The same is true in the west of the country. However, so far this weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers have denied the San Francisco Giants by winning the first two games of the series. Saturday's win saw the Dodgers qualify for the sixth straight time in the playoffs. The Rockies' eight-game winning streak ended in a loss to the Washington Nationals.

If the Brewers win on Sunday and the Cubs lose, the Brewers win the division and the Cubs host NL's wild-game match on Tuesday.
• If the Cubs win on Sunday and the Brewers lose, the Cubs win the division and the Brewers host the NL wild card match on Tuesday.
• If Brewers and Cubs win or lose on Sunday, a tiebreaker match to determine the NL Central winner will be played Monday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
In Sunday's games, the Cubs will send veteran southpaw Mike Montgomery (5-6, 3.99) to the hill against rookie Jack Flaherty of the Cardinals (8-8, 3.16). The Brewers have yet to name a starter for Sunday's game against Detroit. The Tigers will use Spencer Turnbull (0-1, 5.73)

• If the Dodgers win on Sunday and the Rockies lose, the Dodgers win the division and the Rockies head east for the NL championship game on Tuesday.
• If the Rockies win on Sunday and the Dodgers lose, the Rockies win the division and the Dodgers will travel for the NL championship game on Tuesday.
• If both the Dodgers and Rockies win or lose on Sunday, a tiebreaker match to determine the NL Central winner will be played Monday afternoon at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers will decide between Rich Hill and Walker Buehler for Sunday's start against the Giants. San Francisco has Andrew Suarez (7-12, 4.22) locked up. Here is where it becomes interesting. Even if the Rockies did not choose to start, the Nationals would launch Max Scherzer, winner of three Cy Young Awards, if the match had an impact on the ranking. However, there was a change of heart there.
Nationals change of plan: Because the Dodgers and the Rockies are both in playoffs, Max Scherzer will not start tomorrow, said Davey. Fedde will leave.
