After an early start when Clemson needed a last minute to survive in Syracuse, college football offered his best punch with an incredible prime time battle between the Ohio State and Penn State.
Unfortunately for the viewers, this match ended in a huge blow thanks to Nittany Lions coach James Franklin.
Notre Dame beat Stanford in another losing battle and Washington wiped out any hope of seeing another BYU upset by a total defeat of the Cougars.
There have been a lot of winners and losers in all of Saturday's games, and our job is to keep you up to date with all the great stories and the ones you may have missed.
Two high-level coaches remain without a win, and a powerful long-time player used a late mistake from his opponent to win a decisive victory. Meanwhile, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has accomplished something that he has never had as a head coach.
It was an eventful day, to say the least. Let's take a look at the winners and losers of Week 5 University Football games.

Kelly Bryant had declared his intention to transfer earlier this week, and starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence was eliminated after hitting the head of a Syracuse defender.
As Clemson started his final quarter-over from his own six-yard line, the Tigers needed a deep pass from freshman freshman Chase Brice, who was a caller on the third string five days ago.
They had it
In 13 games, 94 yards and five minutes and 25 seconds later, top scorer Travis Etienne crossed the goal line to score the touchdown. He only had 41 seconds left to give Clemson a staggering 27-23 win at Death Valley in front of a noisy crowd.
After the match, coach Dabo Swinney told reporters of ABC TV that he kept telling Brice to "find joy in the present moment" again and again . The quarterback did, and he made two critical plays on this record when it mattered the most.
Faced with 4 and 1 near the midfield on the road, Clemson converted, but the game had been killed by a false start. With only 2h50 left, Swinney decided to escape to 4th and 6th places, and Brice gave Tee Higgins a perfect shot for 20 yards and a huge first try.
Brice looked like a veteran in the game. On the next one, he stunned everyone by keeping the ball for a 17-yard gain.
"How is Chase Brice?" Exclaimed Swinney afterwards.
Etienne and Tavien Feaster took over from there, winning the last 15 meters. Etienne helped Brice all day, finishing with 27 races for 203 yards and three scores. Although Brice was submerged at times, he played two games in a row with the game.
It was perhaps a will to save a season, especially if Lawrence returns next week and plays hard. The crowd then rushed to the field to celebrate with the team while Clemson remained undefeated and awarded Syracuse his first loss of the season.

After such an incredible atmosphere during the Happy Valley's "White Out" match and the late return of Ohio State, Saturday's game between the Nittany Lions and the Buckeyes deserved a better result.
Instead, the game call of James Franklin, the Penn State coach, was disappointing.
While the Lions are a stone's throw away from the 43 goals of the Buckeyes and face the 4th and 5th balls with a 1:22 delay and that there is only a timeout, the coaches of the OSU Urban Meyer and Franklin traded their idle time into a perfect cat mouse game
Then, when was the time to see what brilliant plan Franklin elaborated on the sidelines, what followed?
An area transfer to Miles Sanders, engulfed in the backfield. Really? Everyone thought: "After such a brilliant match between two big teams, what are we getting?"
Pffffffffft.
Franklin has one of the best playmakers in college football with quarterback Trace McSorley, but he pulled the ball out of McSorley's hands and gave it to an attacking halfback who had won just 43 yards in 16 minutes. worn against a defensive front of the excellent Buckeyes. against the race all night.
McSorley, meanwhile, had 286 yards and 175 points, but did not have the opportunity to win the game.
In his post-game interview, Meyer evoked the heroic OSU 96-yard touchdown to take the lead, which was a huge story in a match as the coach Buckeyes has called it "one of the biggest victories I participate in."
But the biggest story is that Franklin took the ball from the hands of his star and played directly into the hands of the Buckeyes.

A mediocre first half put Michigan in a 17-point first-half hole, and it looked like the Wolverines were facing a bad defeat against a poor Northwestern side on the road.
Instead, the Wolverines achieved an incredible defensive performance to complete the biggest return of the Jim Harbaugh era with a 20-17 win against the Wildcats. It was not good for Wolverines # 14, but it does not matter. It was a tough win in the tough Big Ten.
This is the first time in 32 attempts as a college head coach that a team led by Harbaugh has returned after losing 17 points or more, according to ESPN.
Needing a miracle on the final play, Northwest quarterback Clayton Thorson was sacked by Josh Uche to end his chances. It was a brilliant effort by the Wolverines, who finished with six sacks in the game.
Michigan allowed only 202 yards in Northwestern (105 in the first quarter), including 28 yards rushing and 15 first tries. After a while, the game became about whether the Wildcats could just stand because they rarely threatened.
Meanwhile, Harbaugh tactically stayed the course, choosing to score 17-10 on an investment before trying his luck in 4th and 4th place. He knew his attack would have another chance because the defense was playing so well.
"We had to show what we are made of," said Harbaugh at the meeting. "I love what we are made of."
Karan Higdon's 5-yard run with only 4:06 to go gave Big Blue the lead and the defense did the rest.

There was an almost universal love for recruiting Scott Frost in Nebraska and Chip Kelly at UCLA during the off-season, and it's hard to argue with one or the other because of their track record.
Frost led Central Florida to a spotless record and a mythical national championship in 2017, and after the season he was hired for the position of leader of his alma mater, where he was an outstanding quarterback. Kelly returned to the Pac-12, where he helped revolutionize the college football offensive at the time he was working in Oregon after an unsuccessful career in the NFL.
Until now, both reconstructions are rocky.
It's bad like that? There are only four teams left without a win in the FBS, and two of them are the Bruins and the Cornhuskers. The only other teams that have not yet won are San Jose State and UTEP.
There has never been talk that both programs take a long time, given the magnitude of their fall under the schemes of Jim Mora Jr. in Westwood and Mike Riley in Lincoln. But nobody was waiting for it.
Kelly's team lost to Cincinnati, Oklahoma, the state of Fresno and Colorado. The Buffaloes used a dominant second half to flee UCLA 38-16 on Friday. Nebraska lost to Colorado, Troy and Michigan, and on Saturday the Huskers lost 42-28 at home against Purdue.
Yes, the opening match of the season against Akron was postponed because of the weather and it could have been a victory, but it was not the case.
These were two high-level coaching hires, and none of them are in the hot seat. But it's a bit alarming how bad these startups are. At least, the Huskers showed signs of life against Purdue, but that did not give anything significant in the column of victories.

During the second year of the turnover chain, the Miami Hurricanes' defense continues to bring the swagger back to "The U."
In a clash on Thursday night against North Carolina, defense defense defender Manny Diaz forced six turnovers, and three of them were sent off for touchdowns. Joe Jackson and Romeo Finley grabbed passes and ran for the end zone, while Jonathan Garvin added a scoop and a fumble score.
A week after defeating Pittsburgh, the Tar Heels could not get offensive traction in their two-quarter system, and the Canes continued to prosper with a 47-10 win thanks to an opportunistic defense.
In fact, Miami had more points than games, with only 46 offensive attempts.
The three defensive scores equaled the school record. It was enough for former NHL linebacker and big NFL Jonathan Vilma, who was in the ESPN cabin, to say that the defense reminded him of the speed and aggression of all those former Miami teams.
Diaz, meanwhile, continues to inject excitation from this side of the balloon.
"It was a sight to behold," said Diaz. "We always say, turnover, they seem to come in clusters, the fact that we turned the defense into an offense about it was quite a sight to behold."
At the eagerly anticipated start of his two-threat quarterback, N & # 039; Kosi Perry, the defensive stole the show, passing from the back to the LSU and continuing his push to start the game from ACC.

Already more than 30 outsiders from Georgia to Athens, a troubled Tennessee team did not need to do favors to the Bulldogs.
The Flights, however, continued to find creative ways to yield points. Last week, Tennessee gave the Florida Gators 28 points with three turnovers in his own 30-meter line that the Gators converted and a fumble in the end zone that would have given Tennessee seven points.
Saturday, the volunteers were back.
In a scoreless game early in the first period, they seemed to have their first breakaway of the year when defensive lineman Darrell Taylor rushed in late and stripped Jake Fromm.
Rather than jumping on it, however, the most flying thing in the world has happened.
Striker Georgian Isaac Nauta, who had already missed the block a few minutes earlier on Taylor, recovered the ball and ran for a 40-yard touchdown and a 7-0 quick lead.
It was a surprising result for an offense in Georgia that did not seem fluid yet due to youth and lost opportunities. But the Bulldogs, ranked second, still had enough firepower to easily face Tennessee and his inept attack.
Nauta's game was huge and set the tone for the UGA, which had four fumbles against the Vols and got them all back.
For Tennessee, it was the continuation of a miserable football game that led to the dismissal of former coach Butch Jones and the hiring of Jeremy Pruitt. Saturday's defeat was the consecutive setback of the 11th Sec for Flights, which had never been deprived of their league victories until last season.
These are bad pauses and mistakes such as the lack of jump in the groping of Fromm who has been opposed to UT for a long time.

Someone breeze the buffs!
Just one year away from the 2016 10-4 race that saw Colorado in the Pac-12 championship game, the Buffaloes seem to be coming back after the 5-7 break of last year. Admittedly, they did not really beat the Patriots on Friday night, inflicting a 0-4 UCLA defeat, but that does not diminish what they did.
Quarterback Steven Montez continued his brilliant season early in the season, completing 22 of 26 passes for a total of 237 yards and a score, and played two more touchdowns in a dominant 38-16 victory over the Bruins.
CU is now 4-0 for the first time since 1998.
Victories over the state of Colorado, Nebraska, New Hampshire and UCLA were however expected. Now the Buffaloes will see if they can cope in difficult conditions, including hosting the state of Arizona and visiting USC and Washington in the next three weeks.
Mike MacIntyre's team has built a good cushion up until now.
The best thing for the Buffaloes, is that it is not only Mount that carries the show either. The defense was dominant throughout the second half of Friday's win, after the Bruins finally seemed to take the place of coach Chip Kelly.
Sophomores catcher Laviska Shenault also continues to shine early in the season with 12 passes for 126 yards and one touchdown in the air and one on the floor. Running back Travon McMillian (a transfer from Virginia Tech) played his third match of 100 yards.
Next week, CU will begin trying to prove that opponents are mistaken about its light schedule.

Memphis' Friday game against Tulane was another opportunity for coach Mike Norvell to expose one of the nation's top players, Darrell Henderson.
Instead, the Tigers' attack was disjointed and their game plan was not rigorous in what ended in a 40-24 loss to Tulane. The Green Wave allowed the nation to control the biggest shooter, allowing the junior to score only 51 yards in seven races. And almost all of these yards came on a 47-yard goal in the first quarter.
So, why put the ball back to your best weapon only six more times?
It was a confusing plan from Norvell and his colleagues, it's the least that can be said. The Green Wave entered the 120th ranked defensive defense, so you can see why Norvell thought he could attack it by air, but it never materialized.
Brady White has only completed 14 of 30 passes for 246 yards and has been sacked seven times. Nevertheless, the Tigers continued on this roll as a single-man game changer was relegated to the rank of spectator.
Memphis could never even get the ball in the first half because he saw driving after stalling. The Tigers only played 16 games in the first period and finished with 51 games for 277 yards. You must think that Henderson could have helped a crime that stagnated every time.
The Tigers lost several of the team's weapons last year, but they now seem lost as a unit. The offensive line was terrible, and if they do not get the ball to Henderson, he can not lead them to victory.
The West Division Champions of the American Conference of Athletics in Defense must get out of a 0-2 hole they want to repeat.

In a match that seemed like a time when no one wanted to win, Louisville made the most disconcerting mistakes in the end.
Florida State charged the cardinals.
The Seminoles avoided all their misery early in the season with a victorious and successful strike to beat Louisville 28-24 in hopes of marking a turning point in the season. The program of coach Willie Taggart has been struggling so far, but Saturday was a win that could yield significant dividends.
After Micky Crum made the first pass and moved the ball over the Seminoles' 28-meter line with a time remaining of 2:12, Crum ran out of time to stop the clock. Then, in the next play, Louisville's Jawon Pass launched an interception at A.J. Westbrook.
The way Louisville coach, Bobby Petrino, yelled at Pass when he arrived on the sideline made him believe that it was a pass option option, and that She should not have thrown it. Anyway, even for a first-year freshman, this decision was disconcerting.
For once, the Seminoles did not miss the opportunity. An attack that experienced difficulties during the season came back to life using the center of the field in the passing game. Deondre Francois scored the Noles at 81 yards in five games in just 43 seconds.
The big strikes took place in a 19-yard reception by D.J. Matthews, then a captivating 58-yard run by Nyqwan Murray, who turned a corner, made a defender miss before starting in the end zone.
Pass launched another interception to end the Cardinals chances of winning, and FSU rose to 3-2 this season with a win back. With a road trip to Miami next week and a home match against Clemson on October 27, the FSU needed a win on Saturday.
The Seminoles received one in a resounding manner.

Remember when, no matter if Kansas State was at the top of the Big 12 or not, Manhattan, Kansas was a tough place for the opponents to play?
This is no longer the case.
The Wildcats were defeated in the "Little Apple" on Saturday in a 19-19 Texas win, marking their second home defeat of the season.
Head coach Bill Snyder, who was named after the stadium, had a long and brilliant run. His career record on Saturday was 100 games over .500 to 212-112-1. But it looks like his worst team in a long time. The Wildcats can not generate any offense and the defense is not better either.
Against the Longhorns, KSU had only 64 yards in the first half and dug a 19-0 hole. The Wildcats rallied in the second half against a Texas team that went down in the last 30 minutes, but that does not matter.
The state of Kansas has never been able to generate enough offense to constitute a real threat. After dropping a touchdown on the last game of the first half, the Wildcats simply could not play, although the Longhorns tried to give them the game.
KSU only had 217 rushing yards.
There have been times in years when Snyder's teams were left for dead, and they rebounded with strong performances. The Wildcats fell on Saturday, and we are now wondering who they really are better than in the Big 12.

Entering this season, when Trumpeters Heisman, the West Virginia quarterback, quoted his cast to explain why he was threatening to win the highest individual honor in college football, they named Gary Jennings Jr. and David Sills. V as weapons of return.
Everyone slipped on Marcus Simms.
But the good thing about having Grier at the helm, is that it makes everyone better. In the versatile attack of head coach Dana Holgorsen, there are plenty of touches to be made, and the junior receiver thrives in this environment.
After a quiet start to the season against Tennessee, Simms set a career high with 119 receiving yards against Youngstown State. Then, in last week's unhinged victory over Kansas State, he did it again, eclipsing that total with 136 yards against the Wildcats.
It took him only 28 minutes to make up a spot against Texas Tech's Swiss cheese secondary. In the end, he totaled 138 yards against the Red Raiders, while the West Virginia passing match illuminated Kliff Kingsbury's defense.
Grier continues to shine, and he distributes the ball to many playmakers who make Mountaineers an intriguing choice of black horses for the college football playoffs, especially after Oklahoma struggled to beat Army a week ago.
WVU will accumulate points against Big 12's defenses, and Simms has become a formidable upper-class weapon for Grier. It's just another force against which to defend for defenses across the country.

Remember all this talk about how Joe Moorhead, the Mississippi State Head Coach, was the perfect guy to complete the development of quarterback Nick Fitzgerald in his final year?
All of this has collapsed in the last two weeks.
At the start of the season, the Bulldogs clicked both sides of the ball and appeared to be a force in the wilderness of the SEC West. Instead, it took them two games against opponents of the SEC East to realize that it was not the team we thought we would be.
On Saturday night, Starkville was Dan Mullen's first game after leaving the Bulldogs for Florida. It was a perfect opportunity for Moorhead to be loved by fans and for Fitzgerald to have an iconic match that could allow him to play his name next to that of Dak Prescott.
Instead, the Bulldogs fell flat in a 13-6 defeat against a Gators team that looked rejuvenated after dominating Tennessee on the road last weekend. Florida had a brilliant game plan to close Fitzgerald and MSU had no answer.
The top quarter double threat was not a threat at all. He finished 11 of 26 with just 98 passing yards, averaging only 3.8 yards per attempt. He was not goodon the ground or, totaling 32 yards in 20 races. MSU has not managed to score a single touchdown.
It was a worst-case scenario for Moorhead. Mullen called a big game last week against the Vols but was helped by six UT turnovers. Although the Gators do not have many offensive weapons, Mullen is still finding a way to publish victories.
Saturday, it was still the defense, a unit that has worn the Gators for years. The Bulldogs converted only two of the 12 third setbacks and earned 202 total yards. They simply could not support the readers.
Now they enter SEC West and play with a 0 to 2 register against the conference enemies. Moorhead must regroup in haste.

If you like big party games, Saturday afternoon was your jam.
Maybe you had to look for huge performances, because most did not happen during major matches, but with a series of afternoon games before Saturday night at quality football matches.
Greg Dortch (Wake Forest), Jayden Reed (Western Michigan), Riley Miller (Ball State) and Andy Isabella (UMass) had 41 assists for 706 yards and 12 touchdowns. Yes, these are numbers for only four players.
In the West Michigan game, Reed did not even have the most yards on his team, while DWayne Eskridge added seven more catches for 141 yards. The Broncos needed each of those yards in a 40-39 win over Miami (Ohio).
The massive Dortch day was produced against an unfortunate team of Rice while the Demon Donations won it in a 56-24 win. Isabella's career day for UMass turned out to be a loss after the Minute Men were beaten 58-42 by Ohio.
If you stay with the big teams, you've seen quality performance. Kyler Murray of Oklahoma showed more than 400 yards and seven touchdowns in total, handing the ball to everyone. Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and CeeDee Lamb each had more than 100 meters.
Kalija Lipscomb of Vanderbilt also had a huge day, helping the Commodores (barely) to stand up to their Nashville neighbors (31-27) against the Tennessee State.
It was a huge day to receive numbers, and these great performances helped us prepare for the nighttime feast.

It was an unforgettable start to the season for Lane Kiffin, whose Florida Atlantic Owls was one of the wellness stories of the past season in the debut season of the enigmatic head coach at Boca Raton.
With high expectations this year, Oklahoma blew the Owls to start the season, barely played a defeat against Central Florida and sat at 2-2 before heading to Murfreesboro, at Tennessee, to face the MTSU Blue Raiders. .
The host team seized a large deficit in the second half to score what appeared to be a touchdown with less than a minute to play. Instead, Raiders coach Rick Stockstill decided to bet and score two points to try to win the match.
His son, quarterback Brent, rolled left and, with all that he had put in front of him, he threw himself in the middle of the pitch, where Gatlin Casey was the victim of an attempt conversion.
The Owls could not muster in the last 38 seconds and Middle Tennessee had a big win with a 25-24 victory. The Stockstills kissed on the ground and the large crowd of Murfreesboro broke out.
Now, it seems that the FAU will have a hard time getting out of the USA East Conference Division while the Blue Raiders have won a huge division victory. They returned from a 21-3 deficit and sent Kiffin home with a bitter taste in their mouths.

The shocking defeat of the weekend against Old Dominion was one of the worst moments in the recent history of a proud Virginia Tech football program, compounded by the loss of quarterback Josh Jackson. The second-year starter broke his leg and he may miss the rest of the season.
Suddenly, a season that started so strongly seemed to be out of control.
Instead, the Hokies rebounded well on Saturday, beating No. 22 Duke 31-14 to move up to 3-1 this week after losing to the Monarchs and falling from the Top 25. The biggest reason for the win was the performance. junior quarterback Ryan Willis.
Without the double-threat Jackson quarterback, the attack on coach Justin Fuente looked different, but she was still prolific. Willis completed 17 of 27 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns.
It was the first time Willis had started a match since his transfer to Blacksburg from Kansas, where he had started part of his first two years in college. According to Richmond Times-DispatchMike Barber, Willis went 22-2 in high school before going to the Jayhawks, where he went 2-22.
He had returned to his victories against the Blue Devils, calmly leading the Hokies into an aerial assault on a Duke defense that propelled coach David Cutcliffe's team into the Top 25.
The Blue Devils have found their starting quarterback, Daniel Jones, back from his clavicle injury but have been denied their first 5-0 start since 1994. Willis was the main culprit. A 27-yard pass for Damon Hazelton, a 67-yard pass for Dalton Keene and a 10-yard win for Phil Patterson.
The Hokies seem to think that there may be a life after Jackson and the ODU debacle, after all.

With all the exciting games taking place between the university powers Saturday night, you may have missed the craziest of all.
Until now, Hawaii has had a great fright in the face of the state of San Jose, who has not won, and who has needed five extra time to get rid of the Spartans, 44-41 .
However, you need to look a little further to really appreciate this final score and realize how frustrated SJSU is, especially considering that it was a great opportunity to win a match and provoke a big surprise at the same time.

Stanford's defense had no answer for Book, and he made sure the Cardinal earned the delayed loss they should have gotten a week ago when Oregon gave them a victory in the closing minutes.
Nothing about him is particularly imposing. He's listed at a shade over 6'0" and 203 pounds, and he wasn't a highly sought-after prospect as a 3-star quarterback from El Dorado Hills, California. Book didn't shine immediately upon arriving at South Bend, and he wasn't an overnight star.
But over time, he's become a dependable weapon who is capable of being spectacular. With him at the helm, the Irish are a legitimate CFP contender, which has never been more evident than after Saturday's performance.
In two starts now, Book is averaging 301.5 yards and has thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions. He has also has three rushing touchdowns.
With a favorable schedule remaining, Notre Dame could continue to improve with Book under center and make some noise in the postseason.

How do you inherit college football's most electrifying dual-threat quarterback in Khalil Tate, a quality running back in J.J. Taylor and several other offensive weapons and turn them into this?
That's a question Arizona first-year coach Kevin Sumlin will have to continue to answer as the Wildcats keep underachieving in the early season.
The latest frustration came in Saturday night's home loss to USC. Arizona failed to generate anything offensively or even crack the scoreboard until midway through the third quarter.
Offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone has turned the electrifying Tate into a quarterback who stands in the pocket, hands off or throws screens. This has been a disaster so far, and a 24-20 loss didn't help matters.
A season ago, Tate thrived in Rich Rodriguez's spread scheme, and even though Arizona was far from a powerhouse, the quarterback would routinely put up amazing stat lines no matter who he played.
That isn't the case this year, and Mazzone must shoulder his share of the blame.
Yes, the veteran offensive coordinator helped mold quarterbacks such as Josh Rosen (during his freshman year at UCLA, Brett Hundley, Brock Osweiler and Philip Rivers. But he has never managed dual-threat quarterbacks very well.
That is continuing this year, and in a huge chance to change their fortunes against USC, the Wildcats again flailed miserably at getting into any offensive rhythm at all.
At this point, you've got to wonder if Mazzone and Sumlin simply don't know how to utilize Tate, but if that's the case, what's going to happen when they get a less athletic quarterback under center?
There is plenty of reason to be concerned in Tucson.

If you've never heard of Arizona State sophomore running back Eno Benjamin before Saturday night, you're probably in the majority.
But after a Bryce Love-esque performance against Oregon State, you may be hearing a lot more about him soon. Heck, even this year's version of Love hasn't come anywhere near doing what Benjamin did to the Beavers.
He posted one of the day's two most memorable numbers, running for 312 yards on 30 carries and scoring three touchdowns in a 52-24 win over Oregon State. That was just as impressive as Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray's seven touchdowns against Baylor.
Benjamin's school-record performance eclipsed Ben Malone's 250 yards against Oregon State way back in 1973.
Benjamin had had two 100-plus-yard games (against UTSA and Washington) so far this season but gained fewer than 30 each against San Diego State and Michigan State.
Apparently, playing against the Beavers cures all ills.
Unbelievably, Benjamin had plenty of company in a game that saw both teams dominate on the ground. Oregon State running back Jermar Jefferson finished with 254 rushing yards of his own in a losing effort.
But this game was about Benjamin, who helped Arizona State overcome a sluggish start and surge to a 3-2 record after disappointing losses to San Diego State and Washington.
Coach Herm Edwards' team is still on track to impress this year, and now, it's possible the Sun Devils have found a star runner to go along with quarterback Manny Wilkins.

It would have been easy for Oregon to have a hangover after last week's discouraging overtime loss to Stanford that only happened because the Ducks fumbled trying to run out the clock.
Instead, they showed the type of veteran resiliency that should make head coach Mario Cristobal, a hard-nosed former offensive lineman, proud.
The Ducks used big play after big play to dominate California in a late-night battle between ranked teams. No. 19 Oregon won 42-24 thanks to so many quick strikes. The victory snapped the Ducks' five-game conference road losing streak and put them back on track in the Pac-12.
It was an important win, not only for the standings, but also for team morale after last weekend's disappointing blow.
Not only did star quarterback Justin Herbert have a big day, but the Ducks also had two running backs (Travis Dye and CJ Verdell) over 100 yards. Receiver Dillon Mitchell also wound up with more than 100 receiving yards, and Cal had no answer for the offensive onslaught.
In grind-it-out drives, Cal held its own against Oregon, but the Golden Bears couldn't stop the big strikes. Herbert hit Kano Dillon for a 30-yard score and added a 36-yard touchdown pass to Mitchell.
Dye had a 45-yard touchdown run, and Verdell added a 74-yard run to set up another score.
The defense got in on the action, too, sealing the win when Ugochukwu Amadi's second interception of the night was returned 32 yards for a touchdown, the final score of the night.
