ATHENS, Greece – Greek authorities are looking for three missing people on a Greek island after a rare and powerful Mediterranean storm poured heavy rain over the region.
The storm slowly shifted to the northeast, affecting the Aegean islands and central Greece. It is expected to hit parts of northern and northeastern Greece later in the day.
Civil Defense Secretary Yiannis Tafyllis told reporters on Sunday that the most affected areas were around the towns of Corinth and Argos in the Peloponnese peninsula, hit by the storm Saturday and the northern part of the country.
