All eyes turned to Pete Davidson's flash romance with Ariana Grande during the summer – and Saturday Night Live took full advantage of this in his first season.

During the popular SNL The segment of the weekend update, co-host Colin Jost, asked Davidson, 24, to ask him about his far-reaching commitment to 25-year-old Grande.

"I got engaged and nobody could believe it. I can not believe it, "said Davidson. "I understand, she's the # 1 pop star in the world and I'm this guy from SNL that everyone thinks they desperately need new blood.

Davidson then revealed that he was totally in favor of the two partners getting a prep deal before tying the knot.

"Obviously, I wanted one, you know, while God forbid, so she takes half of my sneakers," he joked. "No, I'm totally comfortable with a successful woman, I think it's stupid." I live at home.

With determination, Davidson winked at the camera.

Davidson's novel also served as a basis for an additional sketch centered on the cast member Kyle Mooney's decision to transform himself into a replica of Davidson – complete with blond hair and tattoos – to propel himself into Fame.

At one point in the skit, the two men meet in the hallway while Davidson surprises Kid Cudi with Mooney.

"Yo Kyle … why are you stealing my eyes and my friends. Do not you know that I have mental problems? Davidson asked, referring to his borderline personality disorder.

Mooney then brandishes a bunch of pills and replies, "Me too".

Later, Mooney also reveals that he has a famous girlfriend: Wendy Williams.

Always the support girlfriend, Grande seemed to be behind the scenes throughout the performance.

"Live from ny," she subtitled a photo shared on her Instagram story, in which Davidson wore the costume he wore in the series' opening sketch.

Grande was on hand to support her fiancé, but she was originally to serve as a musical guest for the series, which eventually went to Kanye West.
