Most of us have had the experience of opening a fortune cookie, reading the attached fortune, then throwing it aside and never thinking about it again. These "fortunes" usually include some sort of advice or platitude and what is supposed to be your lucky number.

We do not really pay attention to lucky numbers either, but maybe we should.

Ronnie Martin of Long Pond, Pennsylvania, regularly plays the lottery on his way to New Jersey for work. He always plays the same numbers he found on one of these fortune tales. In July, playing these numbers paid off. Martin won $ 1 million on a Mega Millions ticket.

Ronnie did not realize initially that he had won. He went to the store to scan his tickets and the lottery machine told him to "See the employee". Thinking that something was wrong, he complained to the service employee – Gary – that the device did not tell him whether he was winning or not. .

"You have the ticket of a million dollars!" Gary tells him.

Martin asked Gary to scan the ticket again to be sure, and Gary forced, showing him that the machine said he'd earned $ 1 million.

Once Martin was convinced, he said, "Let's get the forms out!

Martin told the New Jersey Lottery that he and his wife, Shirley, were planning to use the money to pay for their house and other bills. They will put everything in their savings.

As another stroke of luck would have it, Martin won this jackpot on July 24th for my birthday.

I guess we all need to start playing our fortune cookie numbers and my birthday.
