A 25-year-old American subcontractor from Birmingham, Ala., Who refused to give his name, said he was on the parking lot with several other contract workers waiting to leave colleagues after heard gunshots.

He said he saw several people with firearms sneaking between vehicles and entering a gray Dodge Charger and going away.

Josh Hendricks, of Merrillville, stated that he intended to go shopping at Walmart when he met a woman on the parking lot who needed help for jump from his car.

"As soon as his engine started, gunshots sounded," Hendricks said while driving.

Hendricks said he heard two separate bursts of blows, perhaps 12 in total.

Witnesses at the scene said the store was locked out with relatives and employees still inside. However, around 9:15 pm we could see people leaving the store.
