The Princess puppy, 8 months old, was out walking with her two owners in Florida when she started bleeding from her mouth.
A few seconds earlier, a man from the balcony on the second floor saw the dog and pulled it to the chest with a high powered shotgun equipped with a riflescope.
At the time of the incident, a police officer on duty was driving in the area and witnessed the shooting.

Johansen Concepción De La Ros was on a second floor balcony when he saw a couple walking his 8-month-old "Princess" dog on the way around the lake, "Davie's police department said on his Facebook page. .
"De La Ros had a powerful pellet rifle with a scope.
"He took a knee, lined up the cross hairs and shot the little dog.
"The dog owner did not know what happened when the princess started bleeding from her mouth."
The police found Mr. De La Ros in the apartment and recovered the rifle. He was subsequently arrested for the crime of cruelty to animals.

The dog was taken to an animal hospital for examination. The dumpling had crossed the princess's chest, killing her.
"Princess was an 8-month-old puppy that belonged to the 8-year-old daughter of the parents who walked her," wrote the Davie Police Department.
"The family just moved into the area the day before the release of the state."
