In the spirit of Morgan and the other characters, after all that they have heard about Alexandria, it is almost certain that everything is settled. But this part of the country where Morgan is is much more agitated in many ways. They did not meet as many people and as many settlements. It's really about helping the isolated survivors they can discover, because many of them have managed alone. Martha is the extreme extreme of what happens when there is no one to whom to ask for help. This is one way to improve this corner of the world and to prevent these people from going in the dark path taken by Martha.

Goldberg: When we started this season, we wanted it to be a question of hope. It was the emotional line by everyone: start in a place of helplessness and go towards hope. This season's goal was not only to believe it emotionally, but also to make hope part of their mission and reason to exist in this part of the world. Where are you in the construction process of season five?
Chambliss: We just launched the first half of the season yesterday. We are already writing the first episodes. We are far enough on the line and we are excited about what we are doing. Do you foresee problems with planning NCIS: New Orleans? Was it a problem in the past season?
Chambliss: Because Wendell only appeared at the end of the season, the way our schedules aligned themselves on NCIS: New Orleans actually worked pretty well. There was only one production episode for NCIS and for us who overlap. We are very grateful to the producers of NCIS: New Orleans. They really helped us plan and Chill could play Wendell. As soon as we saw him reading for the role, we knew that he was the person we were looking for. We are very pleased that it has worked and we look forward to continuing this relationship.
