WASHINGTON (AP) – The Supreme Court's mandate begins Monday but is eclipsed by the tumult of Judge Brett Kavanaugh's appointment.
Last week, Kavanaugh's high court hearing was full of worrying allegations of Kavanaugh's sexual assault and anger and anger. The FBI has reopened the background check for a week because of allegations of aggression.
The Republicans had hoped that Kavanaugh would be confirmed in time for the court's first public meeting since late June, which would strengthen the court's conservative control.
Instead, there are only eight judges on the bench for the second time in three terms, with a breakdown of four Conservatives and four Liberals.
