Make the Rocket Man justice!

The first teaser-trailer of the next Elton John biopic, Rocketman, was released on Monday, and star Egerton Taron certainly goes to the plate, portraying the legendary British singer.

Egerton, 28, is the spitting image of John.

"There are moments in a rockstar's life that define who he is. Where there was darkness, there is now you, "says the narrator of the clip. "And it will be a crazy race."

It is clear that this is the case when John, incapacitated, falls into the pool, rests on a stretcher and literally thrills a crowd to his music.

Egerton also shows his vocal chops in the clip, singing the title of the movie – John's 1972 hit song "Rocket Man".

Earlier this month, Egerton spoke to Kevin Frazier, ET, about his costumes for the film.

John has already expressed his support for Egerton in the role, posting on Instagram after the release of the first image of the film last week.

"Keep your glasses, it's going to be a crazy race !! Here is Taron Egerton (who describes me!) On the set of the film #Rocketman, "he wrote at the time.

John sang a slightly different tune on ET in April after a tribute concert to GRAMMY in his honor. At the time, the pop music icon was saying that he hated watching others interpret his songs.

"It's horrible because you have no control," he told Frazier. "When I'm on stage, I know that if something happens, I have control."

Fortunately, John is a producer of the film, which gives him more control over how the story is told.

Rocketman should arrive in theaters on May 17, 2019.
