Meghan McCain announced Monday that she would return to "The View" on October 8th.

McCain, 33, has been off the talk show since his first season on September 4th. His father, Senator John McCain, died on August 25th.

"Thank you all for your patience and understanding," she said. tweeted, accompanied by a political drawing of herself in a boxing ring with "DAD" written on her boxing glove.

She continued, vaguely quoting a line from "Rocky Balboa": "It's not about how you hit hard, it's how bad you can be and keep moving forward."

"The View" too tweeted in support of McCain with a promotional video of the cast.

"I speak for the center of the country, I am not intimidated by anyone," McCain said in the video. "I really like working with people who believe what they say."

Meanwhile, his co-organizers had a lot of hot topics to discuss on Monday. In clips posted on the show's Twitter account, Sunny Hostin, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Abby Huntsman talked about the "lift moment" of Senator Jeff Flake, Brett Kavanaugh in "Saturday Night Live" and the Post-SNL controversial Kanye West. speech on the abolition of the 13th Amendment (which prohibited slavery).
