A Delta flight from JFK airport halted takeoff on the runway when its equipment caught fire, officials said.
Delta 420, a Boeing B763, was hit by a main landing gear fire shortly before 7:30 pm, according to the FAA.
The aircraft departed the runway on taxiway A while emergency assistance was witnessing the fire and passengers were coming out of the aircraft via escalators.
No injuries were reported and the port authority declared that there had been no interruption of flight.
