Yankees: 17
A: 10

Why do you choose the Yankees?

Both teams will crush a big circuit or two at first, but the Yankees win the bull fight, scoring against the men from the Oakland facility before the game. Blake Treinen. – Christina Kahrl, MLB Editor

Why do you choose A?

During my brief period around the A in September, I had the impression that they were laughing at the place where they were playing card games. These guys are a loose and confident group, and they will not be baffled by the Yankee Stadium. The A are 39-22 years old in their last 61 road games, and they absolutely crush outside the Oakland Coliseum. Oakland is leading the major teams in races, home runs, total bases and OPS on the road. I'm not sure the A can race in October with this throw. But I can see them enter the Yankee Stadium, steal a match behind that big pen and give Khris Davis, Matt Chapman & Co. a shot at Boston in the division series. – Jerry Crasnick

Why are you picking the Rockies?

I am a big fan of dynamics and trends, even if they are not scientifically proven. So how do you find the momentum, or the trends, of two teams that lost a game on Monday to end up in a wild game? The Rockies have played better since September 1 than the Cubs – a winning percentage of .615 from .556. And these are the teams on the road – the teams on the road have a 7-5 record in the wild card games. – Sarah Langs, ESPN Stats & Information

American League Division

ALDS # 1: To be determined in Red Sox – Red Sox: 20; Yankees: 4; A: 3

Why do you choose Red Sox?

Unless the Yankees (whom I have chosen in the wild card) do not become very aggressive with the first hooks, they can not hope to keep the Boston offensive under control, and even then, I do not bet against the Red Sox who scored against the Yankees. boasted pen. – Kahrl

ALDS N ° 2: The Indians at Astros – Astros: 15; Indians: 12

Why do you choose the Indians?

Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez are excellent players and they have had plenty of time to think about the overwhelming disappointment of losing to the Yankees at the ALDS 2017. Unlike last year, while the Indians had just won a 22-game winning streak and were the darling of all playoff players, they are entering the playoff series as the relative reflexes of the Red Sox, Astros and Yankees. Andrew Miller and Cody Allen combined their efforts to award 13 points in 19 innings in September. But the starting pitching is really good and Josh Donaldson has the potential to be an important X factor in October. Apart from Alex Bregman, Yuli Gurriel and George Springer, the Houston offensive seemed trivial in the past month. The Astros rappers will have to face this Cleveland stick if they want to move forward. – Crasnick

NLDS No 1: To be determined by Brewers – Brewers: 24; Cubs: 3

Why do you choose brewers?

Milwaukee has the strongest training and the deepest sense, and Brewers manager Craig Counsell will not be missed by anyone, not even Joe Maddon. The best hope of the Cubs is that Kris Bryant and Javier Baez have chosen this series to be hot and take over for a few games as few other batters can. – Kahrl

NLDS No. 2: Braves at Dodgers – Dodgers: 26; Braves: 1

You are the only one to have chosen the Braves. Why?

In what has already been a year of outperforming, why can not the Braves wear this in the playoffs? Yes, these Dodgers are more tested in series than the young people of Atlanta. And yes, Los Angeles has taken five of the seven Braves in the regular season. But Freddie Freeman's 0.89 OPS batting average and 0.992 OPS, and Ronald Acuña Jr. 552's slogging percentage and 105 points scored by Ozzie Albies must all count for something? Admittedly, this is largely based on seeing the Braves first-hand (and not covering a Dodgers game this year). Although they lost two of the three games at Yankee Stadium while the Bronx Bombers were playing one of the best balls of the season, the Braves still looked like a scared group earlier this summer. This experience, among others, could help make them an unlikely surprise this post-season. – Coley Harvey

Why do you choose the Astros rather than the Red Sox?

I know it's common to talk about blood sausage, but the Astros advantage of starting the pitch is revealing, and the Red Sox's relief team outside Craig Kimbrel can be beaten by the Houston attack. – Kahrl

Dodgers: 14
Brewers: 11
Cubs: 1
Braves: 1

Why do you choose the Dodgers?

The Dodgers were not necessarily the best National League team all year, but they were strong when they needed to, and their last two wins – in games 162 and 163 – are perfect. example, running towards big heads. when it is necessary. Their enclosure raises some concerns, but the Dodgers are finally 50-0 this season when they lead by four points at any moment. This seems to be a good recipe for success. No other team has been unbeaten in such games. – Langs

World events

Astros: 8
Red Sox: 7
Dodgers: 5
Indians: 5
Brewers: 1
Yankees: 1

Why did you choose the Astros on the Dodgers?

We have not seen a repeat World Series champion since the Yankees won three games in a row between 1998 and 2000. But we also did not see a World Series champion improve. in the same way as the Astros in many ways during the next season. The Astros had better course differentials, better ERA pitchers and a better ERA at the reminder this season than last year. They scored fewer points per game, but the good throw can compensate for that. They are the fifth team in the division to win 100 games as defending champion. Each of the previous four has reached the World Series in the following season and two of them have won. – Langs

Why did you choose the Indians rather than the Brewers?

The Astros and Dodgers are the most complete baseball teams. It's hard to beat a Boston club that has won 108 games and the Yankees have enough talent to reach the World Series. But the core of this Cleveland team has been united for a while and I think the Indians have a burning desire to finally seal the deal. The launch of Milwaukee is obviously a concern. But the Brewers have tremendous team chemistry, a deep and dangerous range led by Christian Yelich, and an exceptional enclosure. The National League group is flawed enough to win a few rounds and make it a World Midwestern series. – Crasnick

Why did you choose the Astros on Brewers?

We could hear rumors about both teams, but the game goes to seven in a fun game that gives us a lot of tight and dramatic games that absolutely must watch television. – Kahrl
